On Tuesday 27th September 1983, at the Wembley Arena in London, Charlie Magri and Frank Cedeno faced off in a highly anticipated WBC World Flyweight title bout. Promoters Mickey Duff, Mike Barrett, and Harry Levene were behind the event, which was aired on the BBC.

Magri, who hailed from London, was defending his title for the first time against Cedeno, a Filipino challenger from Talisay City, Cebu. The two fighters weighed in with Cedeno at 110½ lbs and Magri at 111¼ lbs.

The fight was fast-paced and action-packed, with Cedeno coming out on top after dropping Magri three times before the Italian referee, Angelo Poletti, stopped the fight in the sixth round. The TKO win gave Cedeno the WBC World Flyweight title, and the Filipino fighter celebrated in front of the crowd at Wembley Arena.

The fight was scheduled for 12 rounds, with Cedeno securing the victory at 2:33 in round 6. The three judges scoring the bout were Fernando Paredes, Kurt Halbach, and Robert Desgain. Paredes had Cedeno ahead 50-49, Halbach 50-48, while Desgain had the fight even at 49-49.
