Why the House picks Ryosuke Nishida
Nishida's promoters certainly have not given him an easy way back from his June 25 loss to the always-impressive Junto Nakatani (RTD-6). In Mercado, they have chosen a Mexican with a 32-win and 1-loss record, and the loss came in the informative stage of his career against a debutant. Nishida is a former IBF World Bantamweight Champion and holds a unanimous decision win over Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rodriguez. The southpaw champion made one successful defence against Anuchai Donsua(KO-7) before losing the title in a unification battle with Nakatani. As good as Mercado’s record looks, he has not faced the level of competition that Nishida has. So whilst I believe he will take the Japanese home fighter the distance, I cannot see him winning.
