Irma Garcia vs Nataly Delgado
IBF World Female Super Flyweight Title · College Park Center, Arlington, USA
Why the House picks Nataly Delgado
I make this a close fight. García only needs a bit of room to get that left hand off, and Delgado’s good at taking that room away.
García showed against Emma Dolan how quickly she can turn an exchange. She’ll let you start, then fire the left while your feet are still coming forward. If she gets her lead foot outside Delgado’s and turns off after she punches, Delgado will have to keep resetting before she can get to the body.
What I liked about Delgado against Jasmine Artiga was how she cut the ring off and went straight to the ribs once she got close. She’ll have to do that here with her gloves up and her feet under her. Reach for García and you’ll walk onto the left. Take away her exit first and you can make her work every time she wants a bit of space.
I’m picking Delgado on points. García will land the cleaner single shots, but I reckon Delgado’s body work will make the difference late on, when García has to turn and get away again.
