Dominic Valle vs Francois Scarboro Jr

Here’s a genuine crossroads fight between two unbeaten prospects, not a showcase with a compliant opponent. Dominic Valle is the taller, more seasoned boxer, while Francois Scarboro Jr is the heavier-handed aggressor. Both have been made to work recently, so this could come down to who’s willing to dig deepest.

Valle’s advantage is his length. When he stays disciplined, works behind the jab and finishes combinations before stepping away, he controls both distance and tempo. The problem is that he enjoys a tear-up more than he should. He squares his feet and remains in punching range, which gives Scarboro a real opening.

Scarboro throws with spite and is particularly dangerous when he can plant himself for the left hook. But his defence becomes untidy once exchanges start. He can neglect the jab, chase the finish and take clean punches while loading up.

Scarboro will have his moments, especially if Valle gets drawn into trading. But Valle has faced better opposition and has more ways to win. I expect him to box long, survive a few rough exchanges and take over as Scarboro’s attacks become predictable. Valle wins by unanimous decision.
