Reasoning

Brandun Lee comes in unbeaten, polished, long-limbed, and dangerous when he can set his feet. Cain Sandoval comes in with a bit of scar tissue from the Julian Rodriguez loss, which makes him dangerous in a different way. A young fighter with a dented ego can either tighten up and learn, or he can come out all mouth and no trousers, trying to prove he is still the business. The first two rounds will tell us plenty.

Β

Lee has the cleaner tools. He is taller, longer, sharper at range, and his right hand comes down the pipe with proper spite if it lands cleanly. Sandoval is the shorter pressure fighter, heavy-handed, busy, and he clearly fancies himself in a tear-up. But pressure without head movement is just volunteering to get your whiskers tested. Sandoval has the engine and the power, but Lee has the cleaner boxing ability.

Β

The nuts and bolts for Lee are simple: jab, pivot, punish. If he keeps Sandoval on the end of that jab and does not admire his work after throwing the right hand, he should control the fight. His danger is complacency. Lee has had plenty of hype around him, and if he lets Sandoval drag him into exchanges just to prove a point, he gives the shorter man a chance.

Β

For Sandoval, the technical key is changing the entry. He cannot just march in behind pride and volume. He needs feints, double jabs to the chest, and work under Lee’s elbows when he gets inside. His weakness is defensive discipline. Rodriguez showed that a smart, composed boxer can make him pay for coming forward in straight lines. Lee will have seen that, and so will his corner.

Β

I think Sandoval has moments early because he is aggressive, and he can punch. But over 10 rounds, Lee’s jab, legs, and cleaner counters should start banking rounds. Sandoval will keep trying because he is not built to fold easily, but effort and accuracy are two different things.

I think Brandun Lee wins by unanimous decision.
