About Kaseya Center Boxing Venue

The Kaseya Centre in Miami, Florida, first opened on December 31, 1999, as the American Airlines Arena. The facility is owned by Miami-Dade County and operated by Basketball Properties Ltd. Its former names include American Airlines Arena (1999–2021), FTX Arena (2021–2023), and Miami-Dade Arena in 2023, before adopting the current Kaseya Centre naming rights agreement in April 2023.

Primarily built as a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena, its primary tenant is the NBA’s Miami Heat. The arena hosts concerts, theatrical performances, awards shows, and other large public events. It has also hosted major mixed martial arts events, including UFC 42 in 2003, as well as UFC 287, UFC 299, and UFC 314 in recent years.

In terms of boxing, the venue (under its earlier name American Airlines Arena) has hosted professional boxing cards in the past. For example, on January 22, 2005, Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Henry Bruseles in a WBC Light Welterweight Title Eliminator at American Airlines Arena. It has also been used for “Judgment Day” boxing under Mike Tyson’s Iron Mike Productions in July 2014 at the arena. More recently, the upcoming November 14, 2025, bout between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis has been scheduled for the Kaseya Centre (relocated there from Atlanta). That event is billed as an exhibition boxing match.

While the venue has hosted occasional high-profile professional boxing events, it does not appear to have a record of staging amateur boxing tournaments (or at least none publicly documented). If any amateur boxing contest is scheduled there in future, it would represent a new extension of its combat sports portfolio.
