Keyshawn Davis delivered a stellar performance on Thursday night, showcasing his talent and skill as he dismantled former two-division champion Jose Pedraza in the co-feature bout before Teofimo Lopez's main event clash with Jamaine Ortiz at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.

Davis, boasting an undefeated record of 10-0, with seven knockouts and one no-contest, put on a masterclass against Pedraza, ultimately stopping him in the sixth round. Referee Thomas Taylor intervened to halt the bout at 1:09 of the sixth round, sparing Pedraza from further punishment.

From the outset, Davis dominated the action, landing a remarkable 54 per cent of his power punches, according to CompuBox. During the one-sided affair, he outclassed Pedraza in nearly every aspect, landing nearly 100 more punches overall.

After his impressive victory, Davis expressed his confidence, proclaiming himself the best in the lightweight division. He credited his training and hard work for the stoppage victory, thanking his faith for guiding him to success.

It was a disappointing outing for Pedraza, as the former champion struggled to match Davis's pace and intensity. Despite his efforts, Pedraza appeared depleted, fighting at lightweight for the first time since May 2019 and slipping to 0-3-1 in his past four fights.

A 90-day suspension marked Davis's return to the ring for testing positive for marijuana, which also resulted in a previous victory being changed to a no-contest. However, Davis emphasised that he had stopped using marijuana before his bout with Pedraza, feeling fresher and more effective as a result.
With his victory over Pedraza, Davis now sets his sights on even more significant challenges, including a potential showdown with Teofimo Lopez. Davis wasted no time calling out Lopez, showing his ambition to move to the 140-pound weight class to face the former unified lightweight champion.

Davis demonstrated his versatility and precision throughout the fight, landing devastating shots to Pedraza's head and body. His relentless pressure and accurate punching ultimately proved too much for Pedraza to handle, leading to the stoppage in the sixth round.
Ultimately, Davis's impressive victory solidifies his status as a rising star in the lightweight division, leaving fans eager to see what the future holds for this promising young talent.
