Boardwalk Hall, officially known as Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall since 2017, is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Opened in 1929, it was designed by the architectural firm Lockwood Greene and initiated by Edward L. Bader, mayor of Atlantic City from 1924 to 1927.

The venue has hosted numerous significant events, particularly in boxing. Notable fights include:

1. Mike Tyson's heavyweight title defenses, including his 91-second knockout of Michael Spinks in 1988 and a fourth-round TKO of Larry Holmes in January 1988.

2. Evander Holyfield's first heavyweight title defense against George Foreman in 1991.

3. Matches featuring champions like Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Roberto DurĂ¡n, Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones Jr., Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Bernard Hopkins.

4. The 2007 Kelly Pavlik vs. Jermain Taylor bout for the WBC, WBO, and The Ring middleweight championships.

Beyond boxing, Boardwalk Hall hosted the Miss America Pageant from 1940 to 2004 and again from 2013 to 2019. It was also the venue for the 1964 Democratic National Convention and a Beatles concert during their first U.S. tour.

The hall is notable for housing the world's largest pipe organ and was declared a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1987. It can accommodate up to 14,770 people for concerts and 10,500 for ice hockey.
