Michael Hunter beats Sergey Kuzmin by Unanimous Decision

Michael ‘The Bounty’ Hunter took another step closer to a shot at a heavyweight title when he clearly outpointed Sergey Kuzmin of Russia on the Haney vs Abdullaev card at the Hulu Theatre in Madison Square Garden. All three judges scored it 117-110, a 5th round knockdown by Hunter just added to Kuzmin’s task as he was falling behind from the first bell.

Hunter called out Alexander Povetkin after the win and said that he would like to face the Russian on the Ruiz Jr vs Joshua II card in Saudi Arabia on December 7th leading us to think that promoter Eddie Hearn has that fight in mind for the Saudi card.

At 31-years-old and weighing 221 tonight, Hunter seems to have fully grown into the heavyweight division. He has won six fights in a row since moving up weight class after his solitary career loss to former cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk in April 2017.

Daniyar Yeleussinov vs Reshard Hicks
