Three-division champion and Japanese living legend Naoya Inoue defended his IBF and WBA Super World Bantamweight belts against Thailand's Aran Dipaen in his quest to become Japan's first-ever undisputed champion in the 3-4 belt era.

Dipaen boxed well and seemed to handle Inoue's power even though he was losing rounds, but in the later stages, it was target practice for the champion as he cut the ring down beautifully to trap Dipaen on the ropes and land hard body shots.

In the 8th round, Inoue dropped Dipaen by the ropes with a big left hook. The challenger bravely rose only to be clipped by another huge shot prompting referee Michiaki Someya to stop the fight at 2:34 of the 8th round.
