Mark 'Too Sharp' Johnson made the second defence of the IBF World Flyweight Title he won in a vacant title match against Colombian Francisco Trejedor on the 4th May 1996, against Mexico's Alejandro Montiel.

On the night, Johnson proved too quick and slick for Montiel who lost by a clear unanimous decision.

Johnson, who would go on to make seven defences of the title before moving up to Super-Flyweight and winning the IBF and later WBO belts.
