Belfast's former two-weight world champion Carl "The Jackal" Frampton finally gets back to what he does best when he faces WBA No5 ranked contender Tyler McCreary in a 10 round super-featherweight bout on Saturday, November 30th at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The show is being televised in the USA by ESPN as part of a doubleheader including former WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez taking on Andres Gutierrez in his first outing in the 130lb division.

Frampton was due to make his comeback on the 10th of August against Emmanuel Dominguez in Philadelphia. That was until an ornament in the lobby of the hotel he was staying at fell, breaking a bone in the Northern Irishman's left hand.

At least the McCreary fight pits the former super-bantamweight and featherweight world champion against world-class opposition. Although untested at the highest level, McCreary is talented, young, and hungry to test himself. A win over Frampton would make McCreary a hot property in an already buzzing division.

The 26-year-old from Toledo, Ohio is 26-0-1 with 7 knockouts but is short on experience compared to Frampton, but he has fast hands and footwork and will pose a few problems in the early rounds until the Belfast man gets into his stride and walks McCreary down. When Frampton forces McCreary to the ropes he will be able to land his much heavier punches on the youngster.

Carl Frampton loses last time out against IBF featherweight world champion Josh Warrington.

McCreary has a flashy style and snaps out a good jab but he leaves his chin in the air after he throws his combinations and I expect it is this that Frampton's team have spotted and leads them to believe that they can get a good win in front of a big Tv audience against a world-ranked opponent.

By the time Frampton faces McCreary, it will be 11 months since he last fought. That was a unanimous decision loss to Josh Warrington for the IBF featherweight title at the Manchester Arena. The contest was a 'fight of the year' candidate and although a loss for Frampton, he came away with the knowledge that he is still capable of mixing it with the very best.

Tyler McCreary will give this opportunity everything he's got but, his lack of power will be a big factor against a tough seasoned performer such as Frampton.

Prediction: Frampton to stop McCreary inside 6 rounds.
