After a respectful build-up, Alvarez and Jacobs went for each other after the head-to-head got out of hand. It appeared Jacobs pushed Canelo's head backwards with his head at which point Canelo shoved Jacobs, their respective team members and security then pulled them apart, but words were exchanged.
On the scales, Alvarez weighed in at 159.5lbs, while Jacobs weighed dead on the middleweight division limit of 160lbs.
In what is the biggest boxing event of the year so far, Canelo is the bookies favourite but the media and fans see it more as a 50/50 fight with a slight edge to the flame-haired Mexican due to the favourable judging he has received in the past in Las Vegas, especially the T-mobile Arena which was the home to his 2 battles with Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.
There is a real buzz around this fight that only boxing can produce and events at the weigh-in has only served to heighten that excitement and expectation.
The fight can be seen on DAZN in the United States and on Sky Sports in the UK.
